Arkansas Farmers Union Responds To Senate Agriculture Committee Failure To Move Farm Bill Out Of Committee

AR, UNITED STATES, August 11, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Arkansas Farmers Union is very disappointed that the Senate Agriculture Committee failed to reach an agreement on the Farm Bill. Family farmers and ranchers cannot afford further delays.

Family farmers and ranchers not only need a Farm Bill now, they also need the right Farm Bill. While Arkansas Farmers Union is happy that year-round E15, Mandatory Country-of-Origin Labeling, and funding for local food procurement are included in the Farm Bill, Arkansas Farmers Union is equally disappointed that other critical issues have been overlooked and ignored.

Areas that have to be addressed are the Farm Safety nets that account for high input costs and persistently low prices, stronger conservation funding and protections against corporate monopolies. All areas have to be looked at in the long term not the short term.

Arkansas Farmers Union is ansking our lawmakers from both parties to set aside their bias and work together to get a stronger Farm Bill signed into law.

This Farm Bill might be the most important Farm Bill ever for the security of our food supply chain not just for present day farmers and consumers but for future generations to come.
